Kokoro (Japanese: 心) and means ‘heart’, ‘mind’, ’emotion’, ‘spirit’, ‘soul’, we feel is a good sentiment for our studio.
Studio Kokoro is something of a dream for us but one we’re now making reality.
Like everything in our life this is a partnership and a shared dream to which we bring complimentary skills and ambitions.
We want very much to create a unique space with its own personality capable of hosting a variety of events and activities. We hope it will develop along with its use and the people who become part of its life.
The studio will be a space for photography and rope but will not be limited to those uses.
There will be a list of events very soon once we have dates confirmed.
We will also be running some regular events throughout the year as well as intensive workshops.
We have visited a great many great rope spaces around the world.
We wish to acknowledge their inspiration in our decision to create our own space with Studio Kokoro.
We would like to extend our gratitude to both Naka Akira and Sugiura Norio for their help and input in the naming of Kokoro Studio. We didn’t want to choose an inappropriate name and wanted to make sure this name worked for the reasons we wanted it.
