We didn’t think we would survive the lockdown or this far into 2021 so want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us by donating to our go Fund Me set up by one of our studio members, joining an online class or buying rope since we first shut our doors in March 2020. We had just celebrated our first birthday a week prior to closing, so we have actually been physically closed longer than we have been open.
Due to the current status of the COVID-19 outbreak we have decided to suspend events at Studio Kokoro indefinitely. We will be reviewing the situation and updating you as things progress. Please see our Newsletter and COVID-19 pages for more updates and to be alerted when the situation changes. Thank you to everyone who's supported us at the studio, we hope to have more news for you all soon.
During the current COVID-19 situation we're reviewing the situation with the studio on a daily basis. To stay up to date with our latest information please subscribe to our Newsletter; we'll be putting out our latest information on that. We have also created a COVID-19 page which we are endeavouring to keep up to date with helpful information.
We've chosen the studio's location as somewhere people can get to no matter where they're from. You can use direct train or bus services from Nottingham and surrounding areas. The studio is only a few minutes walk from the bus and train services coming to Mansfield making it really easy to get to even if you don't drive or aren't right on the doorstep.
This is a quick video showing the progress of the studio during it's transformation into the space you see today. We've come a long way. Many thanks to everyone who's helped us to get this far. We couldn't have done it without you!
If you want to know where we are we have now published our 'Finding us' page to give you that information. Please remember we're not open yet but we're hoping to be soon. We've also included information about surrounding amenities, transport, accommodation and food. See where Studio Kokoro is located here.
Kokoro (Japanese: 心) and means 'heart', 'mind', 'emotion', 'spirit', 'soul', we feel is a good sentiment for our studio. Studio Kokoro is something of a dream for us but one we're now making reality. Like everything in our life this is a partnership and a shared dream to which we bring complimentary skills and ambitions. [...]
